Coffee, cake and a breath of fresh air in the gardens

Fancy a coffee somewhere a little quieter than campus? The Botanic Garden Café is a great spot to slow things down, catch up with friends or grab some lunch surrounded by greenery.

There’s plenty of seating both inside and outside, with a menu including hot and cold sandwiches, soup of the day, cakes and a full range of hot drinks. If you’re after something sweet, the freshly baked fruit and cheese scones are well worth a look too.

Once you’ve eaten, make the most of being in the Botanic Garden and head out for a wander. Set across 10 hectares of mature woodland, it’s an easy way to get some fresh air and take a break from studying. Entry is free with your University campus card.

Don’t skip the gift shop

Before you leave, have a browse around the gift shop. You’ll find locally sourced jams, chutneys and honey, alongside books, homeware, garden gifts, cards, wooden toys and plenty of smaller bits and pieces if you’re looking for a present.
